Many people start a new year by making ambitious new year’s resolutions.
I have never liked the idea of new year’s resolutions, because basically they suggest that something is wrong with us that we have to change. Our entire system protests against this, so more often than not, we forget all about them within a few weeks.
Instead, for many years I have started the new year with a new year’s wish. This is the very opposite of new year’s resolutions: it is based on the idea that we are allowed to wish whatever we want, and that we deserve to have our wishes come true.
SO EVERY YEAR I GO THROUGH THIS NEW YEAR’S RITUAL:
I set aside some time in the afternoon of December 31st where I sit down quietly and formulate my biggest, most burning wishes for the new year and write them down in a very special – and very pretty – pink notebook. I also go back and read my wishes for the year that is ending to see how many of them have come true. At the stroke of midnight, I send my wishes out into the universe – and so do many of my clients and customers who have joined this ritual over the years.
IF YOU WANT TO JOIN US THIS YEAR, HERE’S WHAT YOU DO:
Think about that you really, really want and write it down in a notebook or on a piece of paper which you then seal inside an envelope and put in a place where you can find it again at the end of next year.
When the clock strikes midnight on December 31st, you focus all your energy and joy on your wish and send it out into the universe, fully trusting that it will come true.
If we all do that – and are conscious of each other doing it too – your wish will be sent out accompanied by hundreds of joyful thoughts.
What do you think? Do you want to join us?
