One of my favourite things about May is that it’s lilac season.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I make sure every single day to take time to walk slowly past all the huge lilac bushes in my park behind my house around sunset, breathing deeply to see if I can somehow find a way to remember that intoxicating scent the rest of the year. People seem to think it’s a bit odd that I keep stopping to smell them.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I know that others on Instagram go nuts over magnolia season, cherry blossom season, and the wisteria hysteria. And I do love all those. And apple blossoms. And the way each blossoming moves on into the next.
But nothing beats the lilacs for me.
